Frequently asked questions
What is a QR code?
To put it simply, a QR code is the natural evolution of the barcode. Its name comes from "Quick Response Code", and it is called that because it can be read very quickly. The code allows easy access to all kinds of information through your phone.
What are QR codes useful for?
They are as useful as the types of content they can hold. In fact, in recent years this kind of code has grown in popularity among audiences. It makes sense: with a single scan you can access a wide range of information and even make certain tasks easier, like connecting to a WiFi network. A QR code can help you improve the service or product you offer, interact with your customers and promote your business, among other things.
How many types of QR codes are there?
Many. There are as many types as there are kinds of content to associate. At QRzen.io we offer a tool to create a wide variety of them: WiFi, website, vCard, PDF, images, videos, apps and menu. And all in the simplest way.
How do you read a QR code?
Several factors influence whether a person or potential customer reads a QR code, but the most important one is that whoever wants to scan the code has a phone. Today many phones can read QR codes with their own camera; just point at the code to scan it. If that does not work you may need to download an app made to read QR codes. But don't worry! There are several apps that do this.
What's the difference between a static and a dynamic QR?
The biggest difference between the two is that a dynamic QR code can be edited even after being printed, while a static one cannot. So a dynamic QR code lets us change both the function and the content at any time and as often as we want.
Another major difference is that dynamic QRs allow you to collect scan statistics to get as much information as possible.
Can a static QR be converted into a dynamic one or vice versa?
No, due to the technical difference between each type of code.
How can I generate my own QR code?
There are different platforms and tools to create your own QR, but none like QRzen.io. With QRzen.io you can not only generate custom QR codes, you can also manage and edit your codes, and track them analytically.
Can reading a QR fail?
QR codes also have an error-correction system. Thanks to it, up to 30% of the QR code structure can be damaged without affecting its reading. If the damage is greater, reading may fail.
How can I design my own QR code?
With our QR code creator, anyone can create their own.
Can I customize the QR text?
Yes. As long as the maximum number of characters is respected.
Can I change the size of my QR logo?
No. To avoid errors when reading the QR code, this option is not available. But don't worry, we use a standard size so the logo reads well and does not compromise scanning.
Can I edit my QR?
Yes. In the "My QRs" section you can see all the QRs you have created. Just click the edit button (pencil icon) to make changes to your QR.
Can I check that my QR works correctly?
Yes. We recommend always scanning the QR preview with your phone to check that it works.
Why are my QR codes not working?
If you are in the trial period or subscribed to any of our plans, your active QR codes should work without issues.
If your QR codes don't work, it is most likely due to design elements. Some reader apps and phone cameras have trouble scanning complex QR codes.
Below are some design elements to keep in mind:
- Make sure there is significant contrast between the foreground and the background of the QR code.
- Make sure the QR code size is suitable for the scanning distance (in general, dynamic QR codes should not be smaller than 2 x 2 cm and static QR codes should not be smaller than 3 x 3 cm).
- Make sure the logo, if you use one, does not obstruct important parts of the QR code.
What data is collected from dynamic QR scans?
You will be able to know the total number of scans, the number of scans per operating system, the location and the number of unique scans.
How do I download my QR code?
You can download your QR codes from the "My QRs" section or from inside each QR's "Detail" section. You can download it in the formats that suit you best (PNG, JPEG, EPS, SVG).
How do I print my QR code?
Once you have downloaded your QR code in the desired format, you can print it from your computer. Always make sure to test your QR before printing to avoid any issues.
How many plans are there and how do they differ?
Today at QRzen.io we offer 3 plans that give you access to all the tools on our platform. The difference is the duration. You also get a free 7-day trial period to get to know the platform.
Is there any extra charge beyond the plan price?
No, we do not make extra charges beyond the plan price + VAT. However, your credit card provider may charge a small transaction fee. For more information, contact your bank or card provider directly.

How long does my subscription last?
It depends on the plan you subscribed to. We offer the following plans: quarterly, biannual and annual.
Is my subscription renewed automatically?
Yes. Unless the subscription is cancelled —at the latest— one day before the renewal date, your subscription will renew automatically.
A subscription renewal cannot be cancelled once it has been processed.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancelling your subscription is very simple. You can do it in the "Plans and payments" section of your account.
What happens to my QR codes if the subscription is cancelled?
If you cancel your subscription, your dynamic QR codes will stop being active at the end of the contracted period. Static QR codes will keep working, since their content is fixed and does not depend on the subscription.
